A young Ghanaian football striker, Adom Ibrahim has been confirmed dead in Denmark after drowning in a swimming pool.

The 20-year-old was confirmed dead on Monday just five months after moving to the European country to start his professional career with one of the clubs.

Ibrahim joined Hobro IK from third-tier Accra Sporting Club in January on a three-year deal but found unconscious in a swimming pool on Monday.

Accra Sporting Club President, Fiifi Parker Hanson has confirmed that the player died on Monday following the incident in the swimming pool.

"I still can’t believe this, it’s just like I did not read the text well. I’m still confused and shocked. An uprising enterprising striker just left without a word," Hanson wrote.

"First and foremost, Adom was somebody who could light up a room with his sense of humour, warmth and personality.

"He is excelled with talent, ease, grace and humility. Nobody did it better upfront when he is on the pitch.

"The loss of Adom will be painfully felt by our club, supporters and indeed all who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. We love you Adom and your memory will eternally stay with us," he added.

Even though the player signed for the club, he has not been listed on Hobro's website as one of their players perhaps because he is training with their second team.

It is not known if he would be buried in the European country or would be brought to Ghana for his final funeral rites.
