Ho, Sept. 17, GNA - Mobile telecommunication company, MTN Ghana on Friday presented a cheque for GH₵ 15,000.00, MTN recharge cards worth GH₵ 1,000.00 and a drink hamper to Asogli State towards this year's Asogli Yam Festival celebrations.

Mr David Gyimah-Boadu, Regional Senior Manager, South, who presented the items, said the gesture was in appreciation of supports from the Asogli State, which contributed in keeping MTN in business for 20 years and being the network of choice and leader in the communications industry in the country.

He reiterated the commitment of MTN to support traditional authorities across the country each year to keep alive the values and principles that identify the people as Africans.

The National Investment Bank (NIB) also donated GH₵ 30,000.00 towards the celebration, GH₵ 30,000.00 in support of Asogli Education Fund and GH ₵5,000.00 for a Medical Fund for the State.

The Ho Municipal Hospital, Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Ho Municipal Assembly, the National Democratic Congress, the New Patriotic Party, the Ghana Immigration Service and a host of decentralised institutions and private organisations presented assorted drinks and cash to the Asogli State towards the celebration.

The month-long festival would be climaxed on Saturday, September 17, with a grand durbar at the Ho Jubilee Park.
