Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Agyarko, Policy Advisor and Chairman of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Energy Committee, says Nana Akufo-Addo is determined to end the devastating power crisis Ghana is confronted with, if elected as president in this year's elections.

In addition, a Nana Addo government would focus its attention on the development of the oil and gas sector, to ensure that it became a major booster of Ghana's economy. “Nana Addo is determined to bring massive development in Ghana's energy sector, so that we have sustainable oil and gas to propel the economy,” he reiterated.

Mr. Agyarko mentioned how a Nana Addo-led administration would step up efforts in developing the Voltaian Basin, which is endowed with petrochemicals. The Basin stretches across Volta, Northern, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Eastern regions of Ghana.

This, he explained, would ensure that the country generated more power, besides the jobs it would create for the people living around it.

Speaking on Oman FM's political analysis programme 'Boiling Point', Boakye Agyarko blamed the bedevilling power crisis which has crippled businesses and thrown thousands out of jobs on what he described as bad government policies and corruption.

Mr. Agyarko lashed President Mahama for deceiving Ghanaians that the country was not back to the period of load shedding, and urged them to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo in the upcoming general elections, so that the wrongs in the economy would be corrected, to accelerate economic development.

Nana Addo, he indicated, has good intentions and policies for this country, “and I urge Ghanaians to try Nana Addo too when they go to this year's polls.”
