Accra, July 26, GNA - Prophetess Faith K. Owusu-Bonsu, President of Awesome Grace Network (AGN), has called on African leaders to seek the face of God to fulfill their destiny.

She said ignorance, greed and spiritual blindness have been the bane of Africa's leadership.

Prophetess Owusu-Bonsu made the call when she addressed the third edition of the church's yearly conference held in Accra.

It was dubbed: 'Africa in Prayer and Praise of Our Maker, Africa, your redemption is now.'

The purpose was to intercede for Ghana and other African countries to seek the face of God.

It was attended by multinationals from Ghana, Code d'Ivoire, Central African Republic, Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Gabon, Niger, Chad, Burkina Faso among other countries.

Prophetess Owusu-Bonsu said: 'After more than half a century of independence and self-rule, there is no improvement in the lives of the average African, because the new political leaders have still remained ignorant, greedy and spiritually blind like their predecessors,' she said.

She said there was the need to share the truth with the new political leaders that took over from the traditional leaders who were the custodians of the people and their resources.

She said the church which is empowered by God to lead the transformation of society and nations 'unfortunately seems to be sleeping.'

In a sermon, Rev Dr Emmanuel James Owusu-Bonsu, the Founder of AGN said it is time for Africa to depend on God in all her ways to bring spiritual sanity into the continent.

He said the late Kwame Nkrumah's declaration: 'Our independence is meaningless unless it is linked with the total liberation of the African continent,' though very potent and profound has spiritual implications.

The African Union, he said, has not succeeded with its objectives because the knowledge of man is not enough to propel it to the desired height and therefore needed a spiritual backing.

Rev Owusu-Bonsu said there is the chance for Africa to regain his lost glory, adding that the Africa is the cradle of civilization.

He said if Africa decides to worship God alone or if it had depended on God from the onset before the arrival of the colonial masters it would have been more blessed.

Rev Owusu-Bonsu said Africans should take bold decisions and change their ways and turn to God and make Him the centerpiece of all their activities for Africa to obtain its God-given prosperity.

The clergy, he said, should lead the crusade to redeem Africa from its spiritual, social, economic and political doldrums by preaching salvation and repentance.

'African leaders should understand that there is a spiritual dimension to rulership and unless they take note of this we will continue to remain in the dark,' he said.

He disclosed that the conference would be replicated in all African countries for intercessory prayers for the leaders of the continent.
