Policeman kills himself after shooting wife, 2 kids

A police officer with the Rapid Deployment Force in Tema, Lance Corporal Amuzu, has shot himself to death after killing his wife and two children.

According to information picked up by Citi News, the police officer allegedly booked an Ak 47 rifle at his station on Monday for official duties.

Hours later, the news of the gruesome act started making the rounds in the neighborhood.

The reason behind the gruesome act is not yet known. One of the children, who is barely a year old, is seen lying lifeless in a bowl with blood stains.

In the gory and offensive photos which cannot be shared, the wife, who was bathing the child at the time of the shooting, also lies lifeless with her legs in the bowl.

The other kid, believed to be about three years old, was also found on the floor half-naked with blood stains.

The police officer, fully clothed in his uniform with his helmet, was also found lying close to his son, in a pool of blood.

When Citi News contacted the Public Relations Officer of the Tema Regional Police, ASP Juliana Obeng, she confirmed the incident saying they have commenced investigations into it, and will come out with an official position soon.

“Yes, I can confirm the murder involving a lance corporal with the RDF unit in Tema who shot and killed himself and three others. As we speak, investigations have commenced into the incident and we would come out with full details” she said.
