Three men have been arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command for issuing fake visas and passports to travelers.

The syndicate allegedly issued other forged documents including fake bank details to prospective travelers.

The suspects who bear different names on various ID cards were nabbed after the police mounted a search following a tip-off.

About 135 copies of fake Ghanaian passports and international passports were retrieved at their premises.

The police retrieved 22 fake rubber stamps of the Director of Immigration's Permit, Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Education Service.

"The police were able to ascertain that the syndicate is able to secure any documents desired by their clients including fake bank statements to support travelling documents for visas in respective embassies," The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Timothy Yoosa Bonga indicated at a press briefing in Accra on Monday.

He cautioned the public against patronising the services of 'connection men' because "some customers who sometimes have a safe passage in Ghana are arrested in their destination countries."

The police called on the general public to furnish the police service with information that will lead to the arrest of such illegal operators.
