Nestle Ghana's annual Nido Healthy Nutrition Education outreach, has taken place in the Volta Regional capital of Ho, rewarding a mother, Madam Janice Boso, and her daughter, a pupil of Ho Kpodzi clusters of schools, after emerging winners of this year's Nestle Ghana Nutrition Education competition.

The contest was part of Nestle Ghana's annual Nido's Healthy Nutrition Education outreach.

Nestle Ghana, since the inception of the educational outreach in 2015, has in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES), embarked on numerous campaigns across the various regions of the country including Volta, Central, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions to promote Healthy Nutrition Education as part of its commitment to Nutrition, Health and Wellness for the optimal growth of children.

The activity at the Ho Kpodzi E.P Primary School Park saw over 150 pupils in the municipality together with their parents participating.

Through the event, mothers were offered the opportunity to learn about good nutrition through drama, interactive games and dancing.

A cash prize of GHC500 and other assorted products from Nestlé Nido was presented to the winning duo (Madam Janice and her daughter).

This according to Mr. Samuel Adjei –Yeboah, the Development Manager for Powdered Milks at Nestle Ghana, is intended to provide financial support for the next academic term.

He said “Nestlé has made a global commitment to help reduce the risk of under nutrition through micronutrient-fortification and aims to reach 200 billion annual servings of micronutrient-fortified foods and beverages worldwide by 2016.

In the Central and West Africa Region, Nestlé provided its consumers with 58 billion daily servings of micronutrient-fortified foods and beverages in 2015.”

Madam Janice Boso and her daughter together with the other participants, who also went home with assorted products from Nestle, thanked the organization for the gesture.
