Suncity Radio Commended For Role In Curbing Unemployment In Brong Ahafo

Mr Pascal Assan Edwards, Brong Ahafo Regional Co-ordinator of the National Youth Authority (NYA) has commended the Management and staff of Suncity Radio, a Sunyani based FM station, for their immense contribution towards solving the problem of youth unemployment in the Brong Ahafo Region and beyond.

Mr Edwards gave the commendation at the end of a one – day orientation seminar on equipping the youth for the job market, held at Sunyani on Wednesday.

He said apart from partnering the regional NYA and Barclays Bank for the seminar, the Radio station also runs a programme, dubbed, “Business Solutions,” on its airwaves, 97.1 FM every Thursday at 7.30pm, in which Resource Persons offer technical and professional direction on seeking and acquiring employable skills as well as exposure of business opportunities across the Brong Ahafo region and Ghana as a whole.

The Regional NYA Co- ordinator therefore, urged the youth in the region to take advantage of the opportunities laid in the programme and make the best out of it. He also appealed to other individuals and corporate bodies in the region to support his outfit in sensitizing the youth on the need to make the best out of their time and energies for the good of Brong Ahafo and Ghana as a whole.

Over 200 participants attended the programme facilitated by Barclays Bank’s Ready To Work Project officials from Accra.
