Western Union rewards customers with goodies

Accra, June 5, GNA - Western Union, an international money transfer organisation, has rewarded 60 customers from all over the country in its Western Union Home Makeover Promotion for 2016.

The promo which saw some of the 60 customers received 32 inches Samsung LED TV, a Samsung Home Theatre System and a surprise gift in the form of a Strong TV Decoder or Antenna was a sequel to last year's Kitchen Makeover Promo, which awarded 200 customers with kitchen appliances.

Speaking at the presentation, Mr Joseph Nketsiah, General Manager, Treasury, HFC Bank, which hosted the ceremony, said the purpose of the promotion was to make customers feel appreciated for making Western Union their preferred money transfer service.

The promotion was also to attract potential customers to the Western Union brand.

He said due to the value Western Union had placed on its customers it had designed promotions such as Easter Promotion, Back to School Promotion and Year End Promotion in order to shower gifts on them.

He said the winners were selected after they had engaged in Western Union transactions from April 4, and May 3, and warranted a draw coupon which was entered into a draw for selection.

Mr Nketsiah noted that all over the world, remittance from developed countries to the developing ones are seen as a major tool helping not only to curb poverty among families, but also helping to put the economies of such countries on a sound footing.

He said for the past 10 years, remittance flow to Africa has been helping to cushion the economy of many countries.

In Ghana, remittances have been cited as having a strong correlation with economic growth.

He said in Ghana, Western Union had over 1,700 outlets from thus making it easier for customers to receive their remittances than any other money transfer entity.

Mr Cyril Akoto, an award winner from Accra who could not hide his joy, expressed his appreciation to Western Union for their kind gesture and always putting the interest of customers first in its endeavours and decisions.
