MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunications company in the country has won six prestigious awards at the sixth Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA) organized by InstinctWave.

The company was adjudged the best Telecom Operator of the Year, Best Telecom Business of the Year (MTN Business), Best Customer Service of the Year,Customer Service Team of the Year , and Mobile Money Service of the Year.

In addition, the Chief Information Officer, Abbad Reda was adjudged Chief Information Officer of the year.

The awards were in recognition of MTN Ghana's excellent customer care, innovation and product development and deployment.

Commenting on the awards, the CEO of MTN Ghana, Ebenezer Asante said the awards demonstrate the company's efforts aimed at making its customers comfortable with great and innovative products.

“It gives us great pleasure to receive these awards. They validate MTN's focus on providing a distinct customer experience with innovative, relevant services and affirm our leadership in the industry. The areas in which we won the awards are significant ones and confirm that MTN is indeed the network of choice,” he said.

According to him, winning the Customer Service award for the third consecutive time shows that MTN is indeed a customer centric company.

He disclosed that MTN has taken a lot of steps to enhance its customer experience, training its staff to understand that, delighting the customer is the foremost focus.

“The awards given to MTN Business, Mobile Money and our Chief Information Officer all demonstrate the value of the continuous investments we are making in using the best talents who will deliver the best experiences,” he said.

Mr. Asante stated that the awards are the results of decades of significant investments in network technology and infrastructure, customer relationship management and staff investment.

“Since 2006, MTN has invested US$2.5 billion in network expansion and enhancement. The Company is poised to roll out fast, reliable LTE services in all regions in Ghana and will be the first to deploy on-the-go 4G services,” he assured.

He added that MTN's customer service has also seen distinct enhancement with traditional and online service centres serving subscribers across the country.

He stated that MTN Mobile Money has extended financial services across the length and breadth of the country, while MTN Enterprise Business offers solutions that help businesses optimize their operations.

Mr. Asante and the management team dedicated the awards to the company's hardworking staff and its over 17 million loyal subscriber base.
