THE FOUNDER and Leader of the United Front Party(UFP) Nana Agyenim Boateng, has backed the Electoral Commission(EC) to implement the regulations requiring registered political parties to have offices in two thirds of districts across the country or risk being disqualified from contesting in the 2016 general elections.

The EC has served notice of its intention to bar political parties without nationwide representation from contesting in the November 2016 polls as it seeks to implement the Political Party Law.

Though several political parties that could potentially lose out should the electoral body go ahead and implement the law have raised objections, the Founder of the UFP, Nana Agyenim Boateng, aka Gyataba, has encouraged the EC to strictly implement the regulation.

According to him, any political party seeking the mandate of the entire population should be able to show its full presence across the country, adding that any party that is not able to meet the requirement must be disqualified.

Brimming with confidence, Nana Agyenim Boateng told journalists in an interview after inauguration of renovation works at Kunsu Basic Primary and Junior High School in the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, that he will meet the requirements of the EC before the deadline as the party currently has over 145 offices across the country.

The renovation of the schools, cost of which runs into several thousands of Ghana cedis was as a result of a request made by the community during the inauguration of the party's constituency office at Kunsu.

The schools, which had most of its windows, doors and parts of roofs in bad shape thereby affecting teaching and learning, now look very attractive and ready to accommodate students for academic activities.

Nana Agyenim Boateng said he was touched by the humble request made by the community leaders and did not therefore hesitate to support them.

"After we commissioned our constituency office in this community, some elders, including authorities of the school made an appeal to me to support them and i did joy hesitate because I realised that the condition of their buildings was terrible," He said.

According to him, education is a basic necessity and that the responsibility must not be left to government alone but other stakeholders, including political parties, that have the means must also support its development in the country.

He noted that he takes his inspirations from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, whose major focus has been to support and develop education in the country.

The UFP leader also made donations towards a community gala competition which was organized by the party's Constituency Parliament Candidate as part of efforts to enhance social activities in the community.
