Hon. Eric Addae, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Asutifi North District Assembly has disclosed lack of funds was delaying the execution of development projects in the area.

According to him, the Assembly only mobilized an amount of GHc 35,146.80.00 as Internally Generated Fund (IGF) representing 52.6 percent of the quarterly estimate of Sixty-Six Thousand, Eight Hundred and Six Ghana Cedis (GHc 66,860.50).

He noted that though the amount represented 52.6 percent and the assembly expenditure was within limits, generating IGF to meet the numerous expenditure and projects has been a major challenge and blamed the situation on low mobilization skills, lack of commitment of collectors and refusal of residents to honour their tax obligations.

He therefore appealed to staff, assembly members and departmental heads to assist in education and mobilization of funds for the district.

Hon. Addae made these known in an address to the house at the First Ordinary Meeting of the second Session of the Assembly at Kenyasi in the Brong Ahafo Region.

He commended staff of the assembly and stakeholders for their dedication to duty which earned the district a 97 percent mark at a recent functional Organizational and Assessment Tool (FOAT) performance assessment.

He announced a total grant investment package of GHc 548,462.00 has been released by the District Development Facility (DDF) for the construction of a 8-unit teachers quarters at Tawiahkrom, 3-uint school block at Akosakrom, 6-unit KVIP at Kenyasi, construction of senior staff Bungalow at Kenyasi No.1 for Ghana Prisons Service and the construction of a CHPS compound in Koforidua.

On health, Hon. Addae mentioned the construction of CHPS compounds, administration block and accommodation facilities for the Kenyasi Health Centre as measures to enhance quality health delivery to residents.

He pledged to initiate projects in all sectors of the area to boost the economy and create jobs for residents and urged stakeholders to support the assembly to achieve her goals and objectives.

The Presiding Member (PM) Hon. Nana Owusu Boadu A, in his address issued a stern warning to departmental heads to desist from absenting themselves from the deliberations of the house as their contributions was crucial for holistic and workable plans for the assembly.

He commended the house and development partners for their contributions and called for more collaboration to positively advance the developmental needs of the district.
