The operations of the Asawase Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have received massive boost, following the donation of items and financial package worth over GH¢10,000 by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) FrontLiners, a group of intellectuals committed to the cause of the NPP.

Executives of the group yesterday handed over the items, comprising two sets of computers, executives and plastic chairs, ceiling fans, double-decker refrigerator, a 32 inch and a Multi TV decoder, to the Asawase NPP executives at the party’s constituency office.

The KNUST intellectuals have also paid four years rent advance for the constituency party office. The gesture forms part of a promise made to the executives of the constituency during the launch of the group at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Presenting the items to the parliamentary candidate of the constituency, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, the Chairman of the KNUST Frontliners, Dr. Kwabena Boadu, stated that the group had resolved to support the Asawase constituency in order to annex the seat from the ruling NDC. He said to be able to achieve that feat, the executives of the constituency would need to marshal resources and operate in a comfortable atmosphere that will encourage them to deliver their best.

Dr. Boadu said it was for this reason that his association decided to make the donation as part of their contribution towards the objective, stressing that the group will from time to time support the executives of the party.

He said the battle for the 2016 elections was a crucial one, and, therefore, would require the support of all and sundry to be able to achieve the ultimate.

The Chairman of the KNUST Frontliners, therefore, charged executives to close their ranks, and work in unity, in order to ensure a solid campaign.

The Asawase Constituency parliamentary candidate, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, enumerated a number of activities the party had put in place in order to win the Asawase seat.

He mentioned, amongst other things, the intensification of the house-to-house campaign, which, he said, had massively caught up with voters in the constituency.

The NPP parliamentary candidate said the youth of the constituency were fed up with the lies and unfulfilled promises of the incumbent MP, Muntaka Mubarak, and had, therefore, pledged to vote against him.

He noted that he had been encouraged by the responses he had received from the constituents, and the massive support of the party, including the KNUST Frontliners, pledging that the NPP will annex the seat from the NDC.

The First Deputy Regional Chairman of the NPP, Dr. Abdul Rauf, also stressed the need for the party to bring everyone on board the campaign train, in order to ensure victory.
