Kumasi, May 02, GNA - The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UT Bank, Mr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng, has encouraged the youth to uphold the values self-discipline and hard work, saying, that was the path to success.

He reminded them to avoid doing anything that could bring them into trouble with the law and ruin their future.

He was speaking at the maiden edition of the 'Vodafone X-Men Tour', at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

The programme provides the platform for successful business executive to inspire the youth by sharing with them their individual experiences - how they defied the odds to get to where they are now.

It was organized by Vodafone 'X', the youth platform of Vodafone Ghana.

Also featured on the Tour, was popular hiphop artiste and Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award Winner, Michael Owusu Addo, alias 'Sarkodie'.

Mr. Amoabeng spoke of the need for the young people to be patriotic, respect the institutions of state, those in authority and the elderly.

He expressed discomfort with what he said was the growing disregard for moral and cultural values of the country by the people and said that was unhelpful to the progress of the nation.

He underlined that the state and its institutions must also work to create equal opportunity for everybody to fully exploit their potentials and talents - to live their dreams.

Sarkodie asked the students to bold to venture into business after completion of school.

Mrs. Doreen Plange, Head of Youth Segment, Vodafone Ghana, said the programme was the company's contribution towards efforts at helping the youth to build leadership skills and guide them to plan their future.

She said similar visits would be made to other university campuses across the nation.
