Tarkwa (W/R), Feb. 11, GNA - A Tarkwa Circuit has sentenced a 26-year old miner, Iddirisu Zakaria, to 15 year in jail for attempting to rob a small-scale mining firm.

He pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit crime and attempted robbery.

Prosecuting, Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah, told the Court, presided over by Mr. Justice Emmanuel Bart-Plange Brew, that the complainant, Mr. Emmanuel Ohene Boateng, is a small-scale miner, who owns a mining firm at Adaase, and lives at Newtown, near Asankrangwa in the Wassa Amenfi West District of the Western Region.
