French MPs have vote overwhelmingly to change state-of-emergency provisions in the constitution, following November’s attacks in Paris.
The lower house voted 317-199 to adopt the package of measures.
As well as enshrining emergency powers in the constitution, the package of measures would allow terror convicts to be stripped of their citizenship.
But they still have to be passed by a two-thirds vote of a joint session of parliament – likely to take weeks.
