Busy Internet has introduced 4G data services onto the Ghanaian market becoming the latest Internet Service Provider in the country.

To reflect its new identity as a data services provider, busy internet has also rebranded as “Busy”.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, the Managing Director of Busy, Mr Praveen Sadalage, said the introduction of the 4GLTE data services would contribute to deepening the already competitive ICT industry.

For a start, the company has introduced wireless routers and WiFi at different data bundles and prices to cater for the needs of individuals, small and medium-scale businesses.

Busy’s 4G data bundles range from 100MB to 50GB with the ability to roll over unused data from one bundle to the next.

Currently, the Busy’s 4G data services cover up to Kasoa and Prampram in the Greater Accra Region and Ayi Mensa, near Aburi.

Mr Sadalage said efforts were being put in place to extend the 4G services to other parts of the country.

The Minister of Communication, Dr Edward Omane Boamah launching the 4G data service said the rebranding of the company and its introduction of 4G data service would contribute towards the growth and enhancement of Ghana’s ICT industry as well as the economy in general.

According to him, the increasing number of data services providers, especially the high growth in the fourth generation long term evolution segment in Ghana, was a clear indication of a developing economy

“We are living at a time where everything we do daily involves the use of internet data services. This means the country’s capacity to deliver the best of services ought to be prime,” he said.

The Minister congratulated busy internet for the introduction of the 4G data service and has assured of government commitment to boost the internet market.

“For over a decade, Busy symbolized the provision of Internet services in Ghana and I am particularly encouraged that the company has taken its services to the next level to meet the increasing demands of data services,” he said.

The Director of the National Communication Authority (NCA), Mr Paul Kofi Datsa, commended Busy for the bold step taken to launch the 4G service and urged them to make their customers the highest priority in service delivery.

He also urged Busy to make it a point to adhere to the regulations governing the sector.

The launch of Busy’s 4G data service was attended by media owners in the country.
