Look To JESUS And Live
24.01.2016 LISTEN

John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, Look! There is the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world!

John in the above stated scripture was telling the people present to "be sure to see Jesus". That was what he meant when he said "look". He was introducing Christ to the world as the saviour of mankind. John knew that Christ Jesus was the Lamb that was to take away the "sin" of the world.

You must note that John called it "sin of the world" not sins. The world suffers from one sin. That sin, entered the world through one man's disobedience ( Romans 5:12). Remember that anyone born of Man automatically shares in this sin.

It is important to note that irrespective of your high moral standing, you are still a sinner because it is you nature. It has got nothing to do with what you do and what you do not do. For example, the lion that

eats grass can not become a goat. IMPOSSIBLE!
God in his unfailing mercy gave Jesus Christ to become sacrifice for that "sin". Let me not hesitate in mentioning the LAW is Holy and Just. Ezekiel 18 : 20The soul that sins, it [is the one that] shall die....Meaning everyone shall pay for his sin.

However, in the book of Numbers, something dramatic took place among the Children of Israel while on their way to the promised land. Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of bronze and put it on a pole, and if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of bronze [[a]attentively, expectantly, with a steady and absorbing gaze], he lived.

During this period, anyone that was a victim to the snake bite had to die. There was no way out!. God had to ask Moses to erect a pole and put on it a serpent of bronze. Anyone that looked at the serpent lived and didn't not have to die. John declares " look! The Lamb of God" All you needed to do was to look at the serpent on the pole and live. Hallelujah.

What happened in the wilderness was a typology of what Christ did on the cross. Anyone that looks at Christ ( believes in Him, would live).

John 12: 32 And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth [on the cross], will draw and attract all men [Gentiles as well as Jews] to Myself.

Jesus in this scripture was simply saying that if he be crucified as a sacrifice, He shall take away the sin of the world. Hallelujah.

To be free from the sin nature, "Look to Jesus". In him is life. Hallelujah.
