Agona Swedru, Dec 1, GNA - Torgbe G.K.K. Gbedemah the second, a traditional medical practitioner, at Mankrong-Junction, has congratulated the newly appointed Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr John Kudalor, on his appointment by the President John Dramani Mahama.

According to Torgbe Gbedemah, the appointment of former Commissioner of Police (COP) Kudalor, who was Director of Operations, was timely and in the right direction.

Torgbe Gbedemah said Mr Kudalor would use his rich experience, and high professionalism, to improve the Police Service, to help protect life and property.

Speaking to the Press at Agona Swedru, Torgbe Gbedemah said COP Kudalor's appointment as Acting IGP showed the confidence and trust the President Mahama and the Police Council had in him.

He expressed the hope that the new IGP would continue from where his predecessor left and help reduce drastically highly sophisticated crimes across the country.

Torgbe Gbedemah hoped that Mr Kudalor's new position as the overall head of the Police Administration would encourage him to give of his best, and lead the Service to fight against rampant highways robberies in the country.

The herbal doctor, also known as Atsu, said the New IGP should promote effective pro-active policing to bring much success to the Police Service.

He said the appointment had come as a greatest joy not only to the family members, but other relatives as well.

Torgbe Gbedemah said as Christmas was just around the corner, the new IGP should continue to put in place measures and programmes that would help reduce crime, in order to make Ghanaians have confidence in the Police Administration.

Torgbe Gbedemah commended the new IGP for his visionary attics and leadership qualities to create political desks at the Regional Police Commands, to handle issues related to politics as the nation prepared for the 2016 elections.
