The Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road in collaboration with the Rotary Foundation has honored 65 of its members who have finished paying the willful thousand dollar contribution which propelled the club to attain the Paul Harris Fellowship status.

This means all sixty five (65) members in the club have donated one thousand dollars ($1000) or more to different humanitarian programs of the Rotary Foundation such like Polio Plus.

This has therefore earned them the Paul Harris Fellow Status - a status every Rotarian and Rotary Club is proud to achieve.

At a special dinner Night organized by the Foundation which was under the theme: Come Support the Rotary Foundation at the Alisa Hotel, was an exciting and fulfilling moment for the members who have finally made the threshold to achieve the charitably pride hundred percent (100%) Paul Harris Fellows (PHF) status.

The visibly elated members were decorated with Paul Harris pins and later presented with Paul Harris Fellowship certificate.

In his speech the past Rotary International Director and former President of the Ghana Bar Association Mr Raymond Okudzeto commended the members for the attainment of Paul Harris Fellowship.

He asked the members to continue with donations to support the needy.

In 2012 – 2014, the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central together with its partners utilized Rotary Foundation grants in a collaborative project where selected health care workers in St Joseph hospital, Jirapa were taken through various training and live procedure viewing via teleconferencing facilities by the resources persons from Herzog hospital in Jerusalem. Such funds have also been used for its annual eye clinics.

Every November is set aside for Rotarians and friends all over the world to celebrate the Rotary Foundation month to encourage and solicit more cash donations to enable them undertake more projects across the world, however acknowledgement of the works of the Foundation is observed.

The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health; the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. Rotarians and friends of Rotary support the Foundation’s work through voluntary contribution.
