MTN Supports Otumfuo Teachers Awards

Management of MTN Ghana, a leading communication network has donated thousands of Ghana cedis to support Otumfuo Osei Tutu teachers awards held in Kumasi, Tuesday.

The 5^th Otumfuo teachers awards aims at providing motivational support to encourage teachers, who work tirelessly in promoting better educational goals in the country.

Over 100 teachers across the country honored by the foundation were awarded items like table top fridges, certificates, Parcels and other electrical gadgets. Other two teachers, from deprived communities gain a trip to London and other reflective packages.

The chief executive of MTN communications, Mr. Ebenezer Asante Twum speaking in an interview with the press expressed honoured to be part of the colorful event as a major stakeholder.

He indicated that, the company has supported the education foundation in divers’ ways by providing both financial and other educational aids.

According to him, MTN invest one percent of its profits thus, 19.5 billion dolor’s, into its education and health foundation, among other social infrastructural facilities in both rural and urban centers.

As part of it social responsibility Mr. Twum enthusiastically stated that, MTN assistance to Otumfuo education foundation will help accelerate the improvement the company seeks to attains in the education system delivery in Ghana.

The Mr. Asante reiterated that, the company will continue to provide the necessary support education and other infrastructural development to necessitate effective education delivery in the country

Meanwhile, MTN already presented fifteen thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc 15,000) in about 2 months ago to prior support the Otumfuo education fund, and five thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc 5,000) to print quality copies of brochures to aid the foundation.

In his appreciation, the Asantehene thanked the management of MTN for their eagerness in support of educational and other infrastructural facilities.

He apealed to management of the MTN to support our universities and other educational institutions in information technology to help enhance electronic learning.
