The President, His Execellency John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated that what Ghana critically needs at this point in time are strong competent institutions and not necessarily aggressive style of leadership.

The President has also hinted that his government is in the process of strenghtening Ghana's public institutions not only to tackle corruption but further improve the country's enviable democracy.

President John Mahama, who is presently on a state visit to France, made these remarks in an interview with FRANCE24 international.

“Ghana needs strong institutions, not aggressive leaders," he emphasised.

He added...... "We're in the process of strengthening our public institutions, not only to tackle corruption, but also to improve our democracy and the quality of life for every Ghanaian."

President John Mahama is in Paris for a 3-day official Visit to France and is on a mission to woo french investors to Ghana.

It would be recalled that the President on Monday held discussions with French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris which was the second of such meeting by the two leaders, the first during an Official Visit to France by President Mahama in 2013.

The President's visit has also focused on a number of global issues and France’s continued support for Ghana’s developmental programmes through the French aid agency, (Agence Francaise Development) French Development Agency (AfD).
