Victims of robbery attacks have been invited by the Accra Regional police command to help identify their attackers.

The call follows a massive operation by the command on Saturday in some robbery prone areas to apprehend suspected criminals.

Thirty-six suspects – between the ages of 18 and 37 – were arrested at Amanfrom, Galilea and some parts of Kasoa by about 150 police personnel backed by about 20 senior officers.

Various items, including mobile telephones, suspected Indian hemp (wee), machetes, military uniforms, laptops and other items were retrieved from the suspects.

Briefing the media, the Accra Regional Police Commander, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, assured residents of Amanfrom that the police would continue to fight to reduce the spate of crime that had hit those areas in recent times.

He said the role of the residents in identifying the robbers was crucial as that would help them trace their accomplices.

The suspects that will be identified by victims will then be arraigned before court to face the law.

'We are not going to tackle Amanfrom alone. We are also going to look at surrounding areas and other sprawling communities like Galilea, Kasoa, Oyarifa, Sakumono, Ayi Mensah and its environs,' he assured.
