The focus of yesterday’s discussion was the effect of broken homes on child development.

Young Mariama Musah who had attempted abortion after the disappearance of the man responsible, identified only as Bashiru, shared her story with the large gathering.

A bouncy baby boy, the product of the pregnancy, sat on her lap as she recounted her experience to an anxious audience.

Mariama told the crowd though it has been very difficult taking care of the child, she is very happy not to have ‘sacrificed’ him.

Host of Obra, Naa Amerley, advised women to investigate the background of men who show interest in them, and also ensure all marital rites are performed before any sexual adventure.

Six contestants from various church groups competed in a cooking contest amid music and dance, with Pakyi Presbyterian Church emerging first.

All participants received prizes from sponsors, including Onga, JL Danquah, Dr. Forkuo Herbal Clinic, Parry and Co, Bulgarian Wheat and Lion King Washing Powder.
