The Youth Business Network has officially launched its foundation in Accra, with a call on youth to be creative minded.

The event highlighted the foundation's activities and projects that aims at turning the millions job seeking youth of Africa into Job Creators, including assisting youth with viable business ideas to get access to Startup Capital, Incubator Offices, Mentors, among others.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, the Founder; Mr. Solomon Adjei, an Entrepreneur, I.T Consultant and a Media Practitioner admonished his colleague youth to start using the creative sides of their brains to enable them develop new ways of solving the many global challenges.

The Youth Business Network Foundation was established in 2014 as a Non-Governmental and Non for Profit Organization, with the sole vision of "Turning the job seeking youth into job creators"; and Mr. Adjei said one of the major challenges facing the youth of today, arguably is unemployment, citing a recent research by the World Bank which reports that between today and 2030, globally, one billion young people will enter the labor market, with over one million more young people seeking for jobs in Africa monthly.

Youth Unemployment and underemployment leads to lower lifetime income, and it is correlated with the many, many crimes, violence, and social unrest we witness daily, he said.

He again stated that young people are entitled to the right set of tools, skills, and resources that will put them in a position to use the various opportunities available to engage in productive works. However, the Youth must be appropriately prepared, resourced, and skilled to meet the demands of local and international operational standards.

Solomon Adjei bemoaned the recent case where some 10 suspected Ghanaian youth, including a 25 year old graduate from KNUST; Nazir Nortei Alema has joined the dreaded terrorist group, Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), stating that “I don’t think my fellow brothers would have taken such deadly decision if they were gainfully employed”

Recognizing the fact that the youth can’t do it all on their own despite the many big dreams they have, He placed a passionate call on all - economists, industry specialists, politicians, entrepreneurs, trainers, businesses, researchers, and policymakers to come onboard to aid curb this high rate of unemployment canker. “It is time for collective efforts, and we appreciate the fact that the government is doing its part, but we call on the private sector and accomplished individuals to come onboard. You can be a Financier, a Mentor and many more to the youth, and we call on you to do so, he said.

Finally, Mr. Solomon Adjei said, the Youth Business Network Foundation believes that really it is time for collective efforts; to link up, to learn and to share knowledge and experiences, and he therefore call on all youth to rise up to the occasion and start using the creative sides of their brains to help them become job creators, instead of job seekers.
