Moscow International Festival Comes Off From September 26 through October 4

The Anniversary Fifth Edition of the «Circle of Light» Moscow International Festival will take place from September 26 through October 4. In the nine different historical places in the center of Moscow a great show will be held and it will for sure impress its audience. Curator of the project – LBL Communication Group.

The fans of the festival will find themselves «In the city of light…» where performances will be shown – on the buildings on Frunzenskaya embankment and Andreevsky Bridge, on Bolshoi Theatre and in VDNH, on the territory of Patriarshie and Chistie ponds, and finally in the Central Children`s Store and Rowing canal in Krylatskoe. Barges will sail along the Moscow-river and they will show colorful images on the embankments. In Digital October Center the educational program will be held.

The Festival will be opened on the 26th of September by a round of projections on the facade of the building complex on Frunzenskaya embankment and light show on Andreevskiy Bridge. Festival goers will see a 60 minute long hi tech light and projection mapping show created using more than 500 equipment units and 140 projectors. The mapping will be projected onto the surface of more than 17,000 square meters. On the 26th and 27th September as well as on the 3d an 4th October the audience will witness 6 projections made by the best productions in the world from Russia, France, UK and UAE.

Beside the projection mapping and light shows the Organizers of the Circle of Light Festival will run ART VISION International Competition which attracts participants from all over the world. This year only in three nominations - Classic, Modern and Vjing - more than a hundred applications from 26 countries were applied (Russia, Italy, Germany, Hungary, France, UK, Mexico, Australia, Brazil and many others).

All applications will pass preliminary selection and those works that will get by the second tour will be shown on the facades of Bolshoi Theatre and VDNH buildings as well.

A professional jury will rate all the competition works. The main juror Patrick Woodroffe is a mapping designer and producer from UK. Other judges will be Boris Edelstein (Switzerland), Romain Tardy (Belgium), Christian Sumner (UK), Orlando Marques Da Silva (Brazil), Fredrik Jönsson (Sweden), Jonny Wilson (Eclectic Method) (Spain), Addictive TV (UK): Daniels Graham Daniels, Mark Vidler.

Last year nearly 6 million people - 10 thousands foreign tourists among them - visited all the light shows and video mapping performances of the Moscow International «Circle of Light» Festival.
