Ahomka Radio - UK Appoints Darling Jay As Head Of Programs

Since the acquisition and rebranding of Diamond Radio to Ahomka Radio UK by Group Nduom’s media department, nothing has changed in terms of programing with the exception of currently appointing a ‘radio wizard’ in the name of ‘Darling Jay’ as their head of programs.

Having being in the radio industry for a good number of years, his appointment will come as a plus to the station given his radio acumen.

On monitoring the station, a lot needs to be done in terms of content programing for them to become a media force to reckon with. Especially given the ‘shifting cultivation’ nature of presenters on the breakfast show as to who is anchoring or hosting.

But as with everything, only time will tell as those observations will be analysed and published later on.

However, in an interview with the newly appointed programs’ manager, who was full of assurances and sounded upbeat about the future and direction of the station, these were what he had to say.

HOW HAPPY ARE YOU TO BE APPOINTED AS THE PROGRAMS’ HEAD OF AHOMKA RADIO UK?

Well, I would say I feel honoured to be appointed as the Programs’ Manager in Ahomka Radio UK due to my vast experience in the radio industry.

However, much as I feel happy to be the Programs’ manager, there is a big challenge that goes with the job.

Because you have to always sit up and oversee that all the programs are run effectively and consistently so far as radio in the UK is concerned.

YOUR ON-AIR NAME IS DARLING JAY, WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME.

Yeah, it’s true that I go by the name Darling Jay as my showbiz name, but my real name is Amos Erzah.

WHAT IDEAS ARE YOU BRINGING ON BOARD IN TERMS OF PROGRAMING THAT WILL GRAB THE QUICK ATTENTION OF BOTH LISTENERS AND SPONSORS TO THE STATION?

That’s a nice question but I tell you what, I have consulted people who have designed rich programs to be introduced very soon.

And as a matter of fact, I cannot reveal what is coming on board yet. Rather I would advise loyal listeners and local businesses to keep their fingers crossed and continue to patronize our station, because what we have in plan will help businesses and ordinary listeners.

TELL US THE QUALITIES THAT GOT YOU THIS POSITION?

Ah well, that question is down to the management who saw that special quality in me .What I can say is, I have been in the radio industry for close to twelve years and still counting so when it comes to quality programs and contents, I can easily know the taste of listeners.

I could also say I have a long experience and thorough knowledge of the radio market as well as knowing different stations and programmes style.

WHAT WILL YOU SAY, IS THE STRENGTH AND REASON WHY PEOPLE SHOULD TUNE IN TO YOUR STATION?

Our strength is based on the fact that we don’t have more competitors apart from few ones out there. Besides, we are the leading station right now taking into account the number of platforms we are streaming on.

Our target audience is both young and mature people which we have all the platforms to satisfy that need.

ON YOUR STATION’S WEBSITE THERE IS A DIGITAL -AUDIO BROADCASTING LOGO, SO WHEN ARE YOU GOING LIVE ON THAT PLATFORM?

We were supposed to go live on DAB digital radio since the 1st August, 2015 across greater London which is the date confirmed with us from DRG.

MOST OF YOUR LISTENERS CANNOT TUNE IN VIA THE INTERNET THROUGH AHOMKA RADIO UK, SO WHEN ARE YOU SOLVING THAT MAJOR ISSUE?

It’s not a problem so far as I am concerned, because we have sent our URL link to the webmaster to update on the Ahomka Radio website which I believe will be done soon.

HOW READY ARE YOU FOR THE D.A.B PLATFORM?

Well, there is nothing quite different from what we are doing right now despite the fact that we are going on DAB platform. However, as time goes on we will be looking to introduce more new programs like I said earlier o

Their listeners and advertisers will take the station seriously depending on the focus given to the dissemination of information, education, probity and accountability of the society it serves as well as the provision of entertainment.

Let’s not forget that all these will be duly achieved on the basis that those controlling the station have the necessary mercurial media acumen to professionally deliver the standards of modern day radio.
