Telecommunications services provider, Tigo Ghana is set to broadcast a documentary on its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project dubbed, 'Shelter 4 Education.'

Director of Corporate Affairs of Tigo Ghana, Gifty Bingley announced this on Wednesday at the media launch of the documentary, which features various projects that Tigo had embarked on this year in some selected schools under the Ghana Education Service (GES) across the country.

She said, 'Shelter4 Education is Tigo's new CSR, an initiative which will see the company put up six-unit classrooms with headmaster's offices, staff common rooms and KVIPs for some selected schools across the country.'

She said the move is to increase access to education for all children in the country, urging communities with deplorable schools under GES to engage Tigo to address their concerns.

According to her, 'The construction of the buildings has been developed into a television series and will soon air on selected channels across the country for seven weeks starting from August 2, 2015.

She said the Shelter for Education will be aired on TV3 on Sundays from 4:00 to 4:30 as well as VIASAT, Metro TV and eTV on other days of the week.

Ms. Bingley disclosed that through the campaign, Tigo had successfully renovated the St. Joseph Primary School in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region and the Dimabi D/A School in Tolon in the Northern region.

She indicated that Tigo has also built four schools for some selected communities in the country.

Ms Bingley added that 'in each of the four schools we built a six-unit classroom block with an office for the headmaster and a Staff Common room.'

The Director of Corporate Affairs of Tigo Ghana said the EjuraSekyere - Dumase MA School in the Ashanti region, Tupaa Basic School in GA South of the Greater Accra region, Obeng Yaw Basic School Adeiso of the Eastern region, St. Joseph Primary School, Dimabi Nursery and Primary School and the Banda Ahenkro MA School in the Banda Ahenkro District of the BrongAhafo region are the beneficiaries for this year.
