Brong-Ahafo TEWU elects new executives

Sunyani, July 27, GNA - The Brong-Ahafo Regional Branch of the Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU), has elected new executives to steer the affairs of the union for four years.

Mr Matthew Abeaba Abereriya, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Industrial Relations Officer of TEWU, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the new executives were elected during the Regional Delegates' Conference of the Union, which ended in Sunyani at the weekend.

The two-day conference was on the theme 'Quality Education: A Critical Tool For Development in Brong-Ahafo Region, The Role of Education Worker.'

Chaired by Mr Asirifi John Baffoe, the other executive members of the union included Messrs Kwaku Sakyi Asamoah, Vice Chairman, Emmanuel Abeiku Trustee, Daniel Ayarna, Second National Executive (NEC) member as well as Mrs Fuatina Oteng Amoako Finance representative and Mrs Theresa Gyasi, first NEC member.

Mrs Florence Agyen was elected as the the President of the Regional Women's Committee, Grace Kyeremaah, Vice President, Juliana Baidoo, Regional Secretary, Comfort Fordjour, Assistant Regional Secretary, and Margaret Owusu Mensah, Trustee.
