A mason, footballer and tailor have been granted bail in the sum of GHC5,000.00 with two sureties each by the Tarkwa Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Justice Obeng Asante.

The accused persons, Dodzie Mawule, Yakubu Razak and Emmanuel Asare pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit crime and gambling in public and they would re- appear before the court on 30th July 2015.

Prosecuting, Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court that on 13thJuly, 2015 at about 10:10pm, the police had information that a group of people are gambling with playing cards at the railways station, Tarkwa and proceeded to the place.

The group on seeing the police took to their heels.

The accused persons who claim to be mason, footballer and tailor respectively were among those gambling and were arrested and the playing cards and cash of GHc 440.00 retrieved from the floor where they had scattered them.

Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah said the accused persons were cautioned and after investigation, charged with the offence and arraigned before court.
