The Obscurantism Of Nigeria System

Opinion The Obscurantism Of Nigeria System
JUL 7, 2015 LISTEN

Nigeria has gone too far with many years of bad leadership cum pains and sorrows. As a nation, a giant of africa, and all sort of enormous problems. We seems to go nowhere but backwardness. It is really sadden and pathetic that for many years of Nigeria existence, we still haven't gotten it right at all.

We used many years of chances to create madness and make mess of our nation values all for the sake of leadership and many more torturing things that seems hurt to be mentioned. We are going but to nowhere in particular as a nation. Not even an iota of change a day is in the sight to look upon. We are developing country and yet we are still lagging behind.

It bothers the mind where exactly we have gotten it wrong as a nation. We are rich as a country but yet we borrow money from different soil to balance our lacks. Our leaders smile everywhere they go to but their is never a glimpse of smiles on the face of the people ― the opposite of what we see always is ugly, unhappy, grim and crying faces. We don't even know where else to turn to when even our people in abroad are being wasted and traumatized all because we have country we can't live to be happy, the country we can't sleep with our two eyes closed, the country who cares nothing about us.

Our country has turned the good men and women at home to drug barons in some countries in the name of livelihood.

In April alone, four Nigerians were among the eight foreign nationals that Indonesia executed for drug-related offences, defying, as usual, global pleas for clemency. The deceased were part of the 132 Nigerians reportedly on death row abroad. China accounts for 120 of them.

Our lives and properties are most times at risk, the life we live is big time a life of threats and fears. On the streets, we look back and forth if we might be followed by hoodlums who stalks the streets in broad daylight with no one to question them. Pickpockets and footpads fills our society like that of wasps. Terrorism is most at its high rate without a sincere action to curtail this menace.

The over 200
abducted schoolgirls of chibok are no where to be found.

The Boko Haram insurgency, since 2009, has led to the death of over 20,000 innocent Nigerians and rendered our military prostrate, just as the country’s leadership appeared hopeless on how to rescue the over 276 schoolgirls of Chibok still in Boko Haram captivity after their abduction on April 14, 2014. The issue is even worst now when bombs are dancing hell on the lives of innocent people every nook and cranny of north-eastern part.

However, also, it is no doubt that our system and polities are being compromised and tainted forever as a nation. Infact, in Nigeria, have come to realise there's no adequate platforms and sincere freedom of speech to express and pronounce our grivances. What a nation of partiality !

People struggle hard to live and still all they deserve from our draconian government is to render our life to suffering; they have made life impossible for many while the big men in government live and enjoy large.

Nigeria youths are reduced to living unworthy, useless life while army of graduates litter the streets without work to do.

I, as a person still imagine why a rich country like ours still struggle hard to survive for many years. Is this not really suffocating? It takes a good mind to ponder well before answering. We have had many leaders from the past 16years of promises, they leave the corridor of power with their tall promises unfulfilled. They have failed us so much that our minds could end up cursing them. A lot of hapes have been done on our country wealth, while trillions of our money have grown wings and flown abroad.

It was reported that Switzerland, is the safest haven for Nigerians looters, but thanks to

Switzerland ambassador to Nigeria, Hans Rudolf Hodel, who recently said "before anyone could deposit money in any Swiss bank, one have to prove that he/she have earned that money legally.”

Our honey pot petroleum section is quite haemorrhaging. Our power sector have long been a cesspit where our nation treasury is disappearing to.

Inside the government are head of cabals whom our country progress has nothing to do with them but to eat fat and gallivant all around the world while the country is in tatters.

However, it is crystal clear that no one cares about the people but only a matter of "self" alone.

Our leader splashes teeth before they sworn in into power and turn red at us when they assume office alas.

This is really unfair to the people who voted them into power.

There's truly something obscure about Nigeria and her leaders..

I wonder how and why leaders change so easily when they take the mantle of power after being humble, soft-hearted towards the people during election campaign. They strike the attitude of nicety while really inside they have the mean to make us regret and curse the day we troop out to vote for them.

For good 16years, our leaders have made sure this country come down to her knees. What do we even think of the people inside? Their lives and hopes is being shattered. The immediate former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan is really a painful thing to write about.

Many leaders nowadays brooks the devil in their minds to betray their real identities to do the right thing. The people they are surrounded with are the close enemies they are not aware of, so they live with their house on fire. I have known for long that no matter how good and kind-hearted leaders we may have, if they are not careful with the kind of people they appoint to support them to build a great nation, they will live to regret and be caught in the net of failures . They we make sure such leader is forever humiliated with failures. For the past 16years now, our leaders history, despite their deeds to reduce this country to nothing, will one day be praised. The worse ever president in Nigeria history are given special honour by the person who will eventually live the same life. What have this people really done so good that they so much deserve to be honoured? If our leaders are doing something wrong thinking that no one would question them for it, should have it at the back of their minds that God is watching and surely will make everyone of them pay dearly for their misrule and injustice.

Here now we have another man in the saddle, a man with the mantra of "change."

A man to tackle 16years of heavy corruption.
There are a lot of promises that are yet to be redeemed. A lot of promises indeed!

This same new government have now being giving excuses that does not in anyway sit down well in Nigerians. The new government excuse are not what Mr. President promised Nigerians. They are not even part of Mr. President electioneering. Nigerians have waited so long enough, 16years of suffering is not really a day suffering. Nigerians can not afford to sit down again like rock.

According to Editorial, Nigerians are highly expectant. Weighed down by years of misrule, public service corruption and insecurity, the Fourth Republic initially offered hope but has delivered pittance.

This, is really a no waiting moment for Nigerians. If President Mohammadu Buhari truly mean the "change", that change ought to have started now as I write. Our National Assembly is no sign of change Nigerians yearn for.

I urge Mr. President to live up to his promise and take urgent steps to make life better for ordinary Nigerians, not excuses.

We have had enough of this Nation disagrace and embarrasment in our respective house. Fighting for wardrobe allawance is really no sign of change Nigerians expect.

The clamour of some people that our constitution should be changed is quite needless. Nothing is wrong with our constitutional law but we that enforces law are complicated. We take law and enforce what doesn't exist in book or written down. This also need to be checked by law enforcement agency.

In May, national output plunged to 1,327 megawatts from a high of 4,500MW on April 3. This is causing disquiet. Although 17 of the PHCN legacy companies were privatised in 2013, we are not better off than in 1999. This requires urgent intervention.

Our fear of heavy corruption should be reduced and drown.

Our oil section need proper check and audit, they must be properly managed.

In the Next 2020, I want to see Nigeria in a better place.

Let our woes now be our promotion tomorrow. It takes a great mind to reach that goal.
