Giggy family And The Issue Of Child Abuse.
01.07.2015 LISTEN

I have wanted to write on this for a long time because of its crucialities, the aspect of life and most importantly the core of families life. It is no gainsaying that family is the number one priority, and will always be everything.

In life, eyes have seen many things going on around the world. Many have seen hell and experienced hell in their lifetime. Many were raised in the atmosphere of families quagmire while some have seen the best in their families life.

Unhealthy family has made many children tainted for life, while also have made many timid, depressed and traumatized.

April was first declared Child Abuse Prevention Month by presidential proclamation in 1983. Since then, April has been a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse. In Child Maltreatment 2013(U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Children's Bureau) it was reported that in FFY 2013 in the fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, an estimated 679,000 children were victims of child abuse; and 1,484 children died as a result of abuse or neglect. It is glaring that children are exposed to all sort of abuses both at home and outside home. One would agree with me that despite many of this abuses on children are obvious, they are yet to be addressed and tackled. All what we see and hear is noise and clamouring for change that is yet to come and stay; nothing really has been done to steer clear all this world problems.

We have talked, discussed about it. We have solutions, but nothing specially about this ghost solutions has been put on the surface for people and the victims to see for themselves. Many homes is at the fag-end of collapse because of lack of support - most especially by the parents. Many families is on the limit because of selfishness and greeds. We blacks are the centre facet of it. We lack cares, love and to let go of wrongs are the hardcore of our problems. It is mostly found amongst africans imposing on their children, they inculcate fears, intimidate all because of doing what they want and not what the children want. Some parents even used the licence of parents and enforce that "whether you like it or not, you must do what I want." even though it is not right.

Many children regret being part of their families, I don't blame them because only they can tell what they are going through there. Some parents have made their children see life as unworthy with hardship and ill-treatment.

Some have been caught in the web of fathers aggression. The father is always the one to decide what the children needs and not what the children wants.

This is really untold hardship most children at home suffered under the canopy of their parents.

However, the fact is that parents should understand their children needs when they are already grown up, all what they want from them is their "support" and not their selfish and unkind attitude towards things.

The happiness of their children ought to be their first thing to be considered before anything else. They should remind themselves that they have enjoyed their life and they should pave way for peace to reign in their family by allowing their children to also enjoy their own life.

The majority of child abuse cases stemmed from situations and conditions that can be preventable when community programs and systems are engaged and supportive. A community that cares about early childhood development, parental support, and maternal mental health, for instance, is more likely to foster nurturing families and healthy children.

A body of research has identified factors known to prevent and reduce child abuse and neglect. These factors—including parental resilience, nurturing and attachment, social connections, knowledge about parenting and child development, social and emotional competence of children, and concrete supports for parents—are outlined in Preventing Child Maltreatment and Promoting Well-Being: A Network for Action 2015 Resource Guide, also developed by the Children's Bureau.

In recognition of the collaborations needed to help prevent child abuse and neglect, the NCTSN has compiled a list of resources for advocates and policy makers, children and adolescents, educators, families and communities, and mental health and child welfare professionals.

Parents should know quite well that family is everything and they should guide their children and lead by example.

The system of dictatorship should not live to exit in family's life.

And any problems that rears its head shall be beheaded without waiting much time to have a peaceful family.

We can all make a great family.
