Residents at Tetrem and Boamang, communities in the Afigya kwabre district of the Ashanti region have had a community mechanized water projects to serve the people with good drinking water.

The projects, commenced and commissioned by Save water network a nongovernmental organization, is to help curb the frequent disease outbreak at the area, associated with filth and unsafe water used by the people in these communities.

The two water stations, will provide over thousands gallons of water a day, to serve residents within these communities.

Mr. Charles Nimako, Country director, safe water network speaking at the commissioning, entreat all residents to fetch safe water from the station since is good for their health.

He said, the projects add to the network portfolio of 24 stations in some 50 communities, that impact 130, 000 people across the nation.

He charged the people to exercise maintenance culture to enhance long lasting period to benefit coming generations.

As measures to curb these problems, Mr. Nimako stated that, "the network will work in partnership with traditional leadership, water and sanitation management’s teams to raise revenue from affordable water tariffs to operate and maintain the water station".

However, the occasion had a side flag to launch of the Network new "Home Water" Brand, which is a unique identity for affordable safe and reliable water supply.

The branding of the Home Water, affirms the water network organization commitment to drive demand for the consumption of its products and achieve meaningful health outcomes in areas where they operate.

Mr. Nimako, on behalf of the workers expresses their profound gratitude to the government of Ghana and his funded partners, Conrad N. Hilton, Osprey, Newman’s Own and the Family Foundations.

The districts chiefs executive Hon. Oppong Kyekyeku in his remarks, applaud safe water network management for such mechanism to improve the water drinking system in the country.

He assured that, "the assembly will continue offer the necessary assistance to the network body to ensure other communities benefits from this same projects as well".
