Zoomlion Worker Sentenced To 7-Years Imprisonment For Defiling 15 Year-Old-Girl

A 24-year-old Zoomlion Worker, Kwame Danquah, who unlawfully defiled a 15-year-old girl Felicia Achampong at Wasa Akropong has been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment in hard labour by the Tarkwa circuit court.

He pleaded guilty and he was convicted on his own plea.

Presenting the facts, Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by His Honor Mr. Michael Cudjoe Ntumy, Circuit Court Judge Takoradi deputize on behalf of His Honor Alex Obeng Asante, Tarkwa Circuit Court JUDGE on leave that the complainant Doris Yeboah AGED 53 is a caterer and the victim Felicia Achampong, unemployed, is a daughter to the complainant whilst the accused person Kwame Danquah is a labourer working with zoomlion, Wasa Amenfi East District and resides at Wasa Akropong.

He narrated to the court that on 2nd June this year about 6:30pm, the complainant detected that the victim was not feeling well and when she approached her, she told the complainant that, it was the accused person who had sexual intercourse with her on 29 May.

Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah said the case was reported to the Police at Wasa Akropong and Police medical form was issued to the victim to attend hospital for examination and treatment.

The medical form received by Police duly endorsed by the Medical Officer Dr. Zachary Moussa of Wasa Akropong Government Hospital indicated that, the victim was defiled and as a result, “THE HYMEN IS NOT INTACT”.

The accused person was arrested and during investigation, admitted the offence in his investigative cautioned statement and after investigation was charged with the offence.
