Students of Kwawonma Primary and Junior High School at Kwawonma Constituency of the Ashanti Region are sitting and studying at the mercy of the raw hot sun making it difficult for effective teaching and learning, this reporter can autoritatively reveal.

This follows a heavy rain storm that removed the roofing sheets of the 6-classroom block of the school, and has since left the school no other option than to sit anywhere to study.

This situation, has placed over 300 students outside the classrooms for more than 4 days, and has further burdened parents and teachers at the area.

The Chief of the area, Nana Kofi Adjei IV Kwawonmahene, also Adam Gyaasehene speaking in an interview with ModernGhana expressed worry over the situation.

He said they have formally written to the district assembly and Nadmo, but had received no help.

The chief said the District Chief Executive, Kwabena Nkrumah, had promised to channel their grievances to authorities in Accra before they could possibly get any assistance.

The Kwawonmahene is appealing to individuals, NGOs and other institutions to support them to put the school buildings in the proper shape.

He said untill the rains came, the school had served as an examination center for students who fall within the jurisdiction.

According to him, there are so many development projects that he has tackled recently which has financially rendered him incapacitated to sponsor this school project.

He mentioned the newly constructed Kwawonma Boys SHS, water projects, toilet facilities for both the community and the schools among many others.

Nana, in shedding tears, is appealing to organizations to assist him solve this problem for his students.
