Accra, May 23, GNA - Ghana's Black Meteors assistant captain Kennedy Ashia has said that the team is well prepared to defeat Congo in the second round qualifiers of the Africa U-23 Championship at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Ashia told GNA Sports that "We are prepared for the game and with the few friendly games played; we hope to win and make Ghanaians happy.

"We have had an intensive training and with the materials assembled coupled with our experienced coach, we can do the work''.

He noted that, though Congo's coach Claude Le Roy Ghana's former Black Stars trainer is good, their attention will be on the field and not on the coach's expertise.

''We are going to play on the field with players and not Claude Le Roy. We are focused and enthused to win and our focus is not on the coach but our winning mentality.

'We believe in our coach and we will deliver'', he said.

The Meteors will honour the return leg in a fortnight, with the winner advancing to a third round date with Nigeria.
