HealthCare Giver 2nd Lady donates medical equipment’s to Enchi, Asankragua and the Huni Valley hospitals in the WR region

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur, wife of Ghana's Vice President, has appealed to health personnel to show compassion at all times when attending to patients. According to her this in many ways contributes to the recovery process of patients anytime they visit the hospital.

The Second Lady, made the appeal as part of her three day visit to 7 districts and municipality’s in the Western Region to continue with her donation of medical equipment’s worth several hundreds of Ghana Cedis to the Enchi Government hospital , Asankragua Catholic Hospital and the Huni Valley health Centre in the Western region .

Some of the items were beds, mattresses, crutches, Zima frames, trolleys, theatre equipment wheel chairs, safety boxes, syringes, walking racks, among others.

Mrs. Amissah Arthur, a compassionate mother with an instinct to give and has been involved in donating to less privileged in society over the years ,noted that sick persons only needed love and care to be healed, even without medication in some cases, and urged the health workers to ensure that quality health care services were provided to the public.

She reechoed her appeal for NGOs and capable individuals to get involved in assisting government to achieve the objective of providing quality health care, since government alone could not afford it.

The Second Lady called on health officials to take very good care of the donated equipment to ensure longevity for the benefit of future generations.

In Asankragua the Second Lady also inaugurated a new Maternity block that was put up by the District Assembly; she took the opportunity to visit and interact with patients on admission at the maternity ward of the newly inaugurated ward and asked for God’s blessing and guidance upon them.

In all the three places that she made the donations, the Medical superintendents in charge of the various hospitals took the opportunity to thank the Second Lady for the concern shown to them and gave the assurance that the equipment would be taken good care of.

Adding that in spite of all the challenges that they face in those areas they really appreciate the efforts put in by her towards the donation of hospital equipment’s toward quality healthcare delivery in the country. Adding that they would continue to try their best in providing good services for the country.

The chiefs in the various areas that the second Lady visited praised her for the work that she was doing in the area of education and particularly her efforts in the donations of medical equipment’s for those in the rural areas, describing her as a woman of strength.

She was accompanied on her rounds by the Deputy Western regional minister Hon Ekow Gyan, and the regional Chairman of the NDC in the region Big Aidoo.
