Half-Assini, WR, May 20, GNA - Two suspects from Beyin have been arrested by the Police to assist investigations into the death of a 35 year old man in the town.

Their names are, however, being withheld.
The deceased, Timothy Kwasi, died in a bizarre situation, on Tuesday, May 12, the Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent John Furguson Dzineku, told the GNA at Half-Assini.

He said the deceased allegedly cut his throat to death in his kitchen at Beyin around midday that day.

The District Commander said Mr John Kwasi, an Uncle of the deceased, on Tuesday afternoon, reported the incident to the Police at Beyin.

He said the deceased was found lying in supine situation in his kitchen with a short pestle and small knife both soaked in blood beside him.

Superintendent Dzineku said according to the Uncle, the relatives left him alone in the house in the morning and went off to pursue their various socio-economic activities but returned in the afternoon to find him death.

He said the Police suspected foul play in the death as the knife was too small for the deceased to kill himself with, hence the arrest.

The District Police Commander said another suspect was, however, on the run.

He said the body had been deposited at the Half-Assini Government Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
