Man 38, Defiles Imbecile

A 38-year old unemployed man has been dragged to an Accra Circuit Court after he allegedly had carnal knowledge of a 36 -year old imbecile under the pretext of going to download gospel songs for her.

Jojo Anderson was put in a court presided over by Rita Agyemang-Budu and charged with having carnal knowledge of a female imbecile.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and has been remanded in police custody to re-appear on May 7, 2015.

The facts of the case as presented by Chief Inspector S. Oppong were that the victim was a 36-year old  mentally retarded woman who lives with her parents at 'Been-To' at Kwashieman while the accused person lives with his family and two children  near the same area.

According to him, on April 12, 2015 the victim was returning home when the suspect saw her and lured her into his room under the pretext of downloading gospel music onto her mobile phone for her because he knew she loved gospel music.

He said the suspect had sex with the victim after she followed him into the room. The victim started to bleed profusely after the act so the suspect took her to the bathroom and bathed her after which he led her home to her parents.

The Chief Inspector continued that when they reached the house the parents of the girl asked her whether anything had happened to her and she wasted no time in explaining the ordeal she had gone through to her mother.

The prosecutor stated that a complaint was accordingly lodged with the Odorkor police command and the suspect was arrested and arraigned after police concluded investigations.
