Samir Group of Companies says it is doing well despite the current economic downturn in the country.
'With a combined workforce of more than 500 employees, we owe this achievement not only to management, but the hard work of the dedicated staff and support of a variety of business partners,' said Group Executive Chairman, Nazem Karoum.
He disclosed this at a cocktail party to bid farewell to the outgoing Group Financial Controller, G. Venkatraman and welcome the new Chief Operations Officer, Sridar Krishnamurthy.
The Samir Group is made up of Platinum Motors Ltd, Platinum Tours and Travel Ltd, Samir Engineering and Trading Co. Ltd, Civil & Structures, First Stockmovers Ltd and Quantum Petroleum Ltd.
The event was also to honour four employees of Quantum Petroleum who met their targets and helped make the company the eighth best Oil Marketing Company (OMC) out of 235 firms in the country.
The four employees received Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) for their hard work.
The Executive Chairman praised Mr Venkatraman for his dedication during his six years with the Samir Group.
He said the top financial man brought discipline to the Group's financial management.
