Xenophobia: NPP Germany Appeals To Jacob Zuma To Call His People To Order
23.04.2015 LISTEN

The Chairman of the Germany branch of the NPP, Rev. Alex Acheampong, has called on the South African government to call it's citizens to order following the recent xenophobic attacks on other Africans there.

He said Npp Germany is deeply saddened and concerned about the happenings in South Africa.

Rev Acheampong called Matshepiso Finca, First Secretary Public Diplomacy, Embassy of the Republic of South Africa to send a strong message to the South African government that most Africans want to see our continent advance, and this is not the kind of thing we expect from South Africa.

The South Africans are hunting down black foreigners in a barbaric manner to register their displeasure over what they describe as foreign nationals taking over their jobs. This is not the first time, in 2008 similar xenophobic attacks led to the deaths of 63 people in Johannesburg, and it keeps flaring up.

South African leaders should educate their citizens on the immense contribution of some African countries during and after apartheid era. The behavior of South Africa, betrays the other African countries who led the fight against apartheid, and don't deserve to be paid back through xenophobic assaults.

African integration is about for Africans to be able to do businesses in our sister countries, and the only way to prevent retribution was to put an end to the ongoing xenophobic attacks on individuals and businesses belonging especially to Africans. This does not set a good example for integration, especially South Africa that have investment all over Africa.

Rev. Acheampong urge the South African government through the Ambassador to quickly put a stop to the attacks and restore peace in the affected cities.
