Three persons lost their lives while several others sustained various degrees of injury in three separate accidents that occurred between the Pambrose Salt Limited stretch of the Kasoa road and the Mallam Market area last Friday.

The deceased have so far been identified as 17-yearold Yaw Prosper, Kwabena Awiafe Addison, a taxi driver, and 50-year-old Ama Manu.

The three bodies have been deposited at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation while the injured were treated and discharged at the Ga South Municipal Hospital.

Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, DSP Mumuni Abdulai, the commanding officer in charge of the Odorkor Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), said two of the accidents occurred on Friday, April 17, 2015 while the third one occurred the following day.

The first accident, which occurred at 11:35am last Friday at a spot near Benje's Lodge at Mangolane, involved a Mercedes-Benz sprinter bus with registration number GE 8078-12, driven by one Felix Nkrumah.

The taxi driver lost control and ran into a ditch as a result of the impact.

Kwabena Awiafe sustained minor injuries and walked to the Ga South Municipal Hospital for treatment but died a few hours later while receiving treatment.

On Saturday, April 18, 2015, at about 5pm, driver Appiah Duku was driving an unregistered Toyota Corolla Saloon car with a trade plate number DV326 with two persons on board from Odorkor towards Mallam.

Suspect Appiah Duku, then speeding, knocked down Madam Ama Manu who was then crossing the road.

Madam Ama sustained injuries and was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment but also passed on at the health facility.

The three drivers have all been detained as their dockets have been forwarded to the Attorney General's department for advice.

Meanwhile, the police are appealing to the public to help locate relatives of a 37-year-old pedestrian who was knocked down by a Toyota Corolla car around 9:30pm on March 29, 2015 at a spot near the Hong Kong footbridge.
