The Methodist Church Ghana, Obuasi Diocese has had their 18th Annual Synod at the Wesley Cathedral, Obuasi. This is the last synod for Rt. Rev Stephen Richard K. Bosomtwe-Ayensu, who has served the diocese as the bishop and the chief servant whose term will absolutely ends on 30th September, 2015.

Speaking to the delegates as well as the congregation at the official opening of the synod, bishop expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the circuits, organizations, the staff and every tom and harries during his six years tenure and at the same time asks for pardon from all members.

Bishop Ayensu advised members to try as much as possible to have a first aid box in their houses for our NHIS is in shambles. 'The National Health Insurance Scheme which was in place to bail out sometimes ago is now in shambles, paralyzed so much that citizenry do not feel its positive impact. Let us therefore advisedly equip our homes, offices, work places, chapels with First Aid facility to help us mitigate against any unforeseen health attacks and emergencies' he said.

Again, bishop said Ghana was fortunate in our last election and we must take a clue from the recent Nigeria election which was peaceful. He said in choosing a commissioner for the electoral commission, we must choose a God fearing man.

Bishop Bosomtwe-Ayensu said, he must be a person who is not bias, support party A or B but will be in the middle. He said the EC is the peace of the country and if care is not taken, Ghana will regret. Bishop said, Ghanaians have lost hope in the current government, because the government is a liar.
