Be Responsible For The Well-Being Of Your Children—Men Urged

The deputy News Editor of Angel fm Eunice Attakora- Manu has called on men who impregnate women to be responsible for the wellbeing of the children which is the outcome of unprepared sex.

According to the Gender Advocate who has been promoting the need to respect the right of the woman, the rate at which men impregnate women but shield their fatherhood responsibilities is alarming in Ghana.

She added that her call is not to coerce men to marry women they impregnate but to urge them (men) to live up to their obligations as fathers.

If ''fathers were responsible to their children, no matter the circumstances that led to the pregnancy, situations like street children, child labor and teenage pregnancy would be minimized'', she said.

Miss Attakora -Manu who has over the years been supporting the needy in society, especially females, made the call after donating an amount of One Thousand Ghana Cedis ( GHC 1,000.00) to the mother of female twins who is lacking financial strength to cater for herself and the babies.

The twenty one year old mother of the beautiful twins, Mavis told Angel fm' s Morning Show host Kwame Tanko that the father of the three-month old babies absconded upon hearing that she had given birth to twins.

She narrated that having the babies whilst unemployed, coupled with lack of assistance from her family and that of the boyfriend is making life very unbearable for her and her offspring.

Mavis further stated that the situation has plunged her into depending on philanthropists for survival hence her visit to Angel fm to seek for help, adding that the father of the twins was nowhere to be found.

She however advised her colleague young women to beware of men who are only interested in going to bed with them,
and live responsible life styles.

She expressed much gratitude to Miss Eunice Attakora Mansah who being touched by her(mother's) story, willingly gave her and her twins such a huge amount that was beyond her expectation.
