The RACIST police chief of the Ferguson, Missouri, police department has resigned following a scathing government report that exposed racial biases at the Ferguson Police Department.

The embattled chief's Resignation takes effect on 19 March, the St Louis Post-Dispatch News Paper reports. Thomas Jackson is the latest Ferguson city official to resign in the wake a US Department of Justice report that highlighted systemic racially biased practises by the police and municipal court.

The Ferguson City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to accept the resignation of City Manager John Shaw, who oversaw the police department. Municipal Court Judge Ronald Brockmeyer has also stepped down to help the city "begin its healing process", he said through a spokesperson.

The St Louis suburb has been hit by unrest since a white police officer fatally shot the unarmed 18-year-old young Black-American, Michael Brown in the suburb of St. Louis, Missouri in the summer of 2014.

The Department of Justice recently accused the police of widespread racial discrimination against the Black Americans for demonstrating too often and extremely unnecessarily fines on the Black Americans just to fill the municipal coffers. Both Ferguson's police and court systems operated as a money-making enterprise which heightened tensions among residents.

Thomas Jackson (the police chief) told the Newspaper, Post-Dispatch, he felt it was time for him to move out. However Ferguson's Mayor, James Knowles denied rumours that he would also resign, the paper reported.
