As part of activities marking Ghana's 58th Independence Anniversary The Ghanaian Ministers Fellowship (DC, MD, VA) organized a Praise and Worship service under the theme “From Independence to Development” on Saturday March 7th at the Faith Family Ministries Auditorium in Woodbridge, Virginia .

The colorful event, which was well-attended, was the needed spiritual booster Ghana badly needs to break through into rapid development at this time in our history.

The audiences were treated with songs from Faith Sanctuary Choir of Faith Family Ministries, Crossover Choir, End Time Glory Choir with special performances by the Faith Dynamics and the Halal praise group from Crossover Church. Okyerema Asante the legendary master drummer put up a splendid display of musical choreography to the admiration of the crowd

General Apostle Edwin K Otabil of End-Time Glory International, President of GMF spoke about the necessity of lifting up Jesus for God to lift up a people.

He spoke about how the Father set the example for us by lifting up Jesus above every other person. Rev. Edwin Otabil said the lifting of self, no matter who or where always produces corruption and disappointments. Ghana should therefore exalt the Lord so his Presence can fill our churches and his Glory will fill the nation with rapid development.

Apostle Edwin Otabil admonished the gathering to pray for mother Ghana so that the will of God will be established in the country. He also encouraged Ghanaians to train their children to be proud of their Ghanaian heritage.

Lawyer Kwaku Ofori of Maryland based Ofori Law Firm who was the guest speaker recounted aspects of Ghana's history that demonstrated God's bountiful blessings and mercies on the nation. Comparing it to the current situation in Ghana he called for a concerted effort to pray for Ghana.

Minister Hughes Teye-Doryormu of the Church of the Living God led the audience to pray for Ghana.

The event was spiced with a special “Test your knowledge on Ghana”
