Life After High School In Ghana
25.02.2015 LISTEN

I am A. K. Buah, a teenage Article Writer who completed the great St. John's School in May 2014. I cannot write this article without giving shout outs. Big shout outs to all Saints and Old Saints of the great St. John's School. We are who we are as distinguished gentlemen by the real education and training proudly given us by our cherished alma mater, St. John's School. So I always say that: "I am proud to be an Old Saint!" Also, as a new high school graduate, I am moved by the nostalgia for the good old days in St. John's School in comparison with my current life to write this article.

Back in our final year in high school, we were very excited about our impending life after high school hoping to proceed to the various tertiary institutions. But upon completing high school and now living as new high school graduates, some of feel ashamed for being overly excited a year ago. This is because most of us are unemployed and idled expending our precious time, energy and the little money we get on unproductive and unwholesome things. That is the life after high school in Ghana we live for you! This current phenomenon has compelled some to resort to practising illegal and immoral acts to earn income.

However, many of us hope to get out of this bad situation by attending the various tertiary institutions to keep us busy with studies. But how many of us can make it to the tertiary level of our educational system since most of us failed our final examinations, WASSCE? And part of those who passed the WASSCE cannot afford the fees at the various tertiary institutions. Therefore, some of us have devised strategic methods for beating the outlined limitations in order to achieve our ambitions to the amazement of our society.

And some of us want to be victors one day despite the fact that we were somehow entangled in the phenomenon of life after high school in Ghana. Therefore, some of us are striving in intelligence, exception, skill, wisdom and integrity to make that hope a reality one day. Lastly, I expect you to share this article with all high school students and graduates you know, for them to be challenged and inspired to live the best of life after high school in Ghana!
