The Nigerian Youth Diaspora Summit has been held fruitfully in Ghana with a call on Nigerian youths to remain peaceful, hardworking while contributing to the Development of Federal Nigeria as a responsible Nation.
The event that held at the British Council Auditorium,Accra saw delegates attending from different countries across the world.Comrade Jude Imagwe the Senior Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on Youth and Students
urged them never to allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians even as the elections draw closer. He advised them to desist from any action that would cause breach of peace as no politician is worth the blood of any
man.
On his part,Comrade Barry Ndu Nwaihim,the convener of the Summit made a case for the youths,asking the Government to consider involving more young people in leadership positions as they have the capacity to deliver.He told the participants not to be deceived by politicians who only remember them only during elections and make themselves unreachaeable after that.
He advised that they should vote in the next elections based on their convictions not out of peanuts being given to them by aspirants.He officially launched the SIGNATURE OF PEACE Project that would commit every
Nigerian youth to remain peaceful before,during and after the election. He rounded up his Welcome address with another call to Government to do everything possible to ensure Nigerians in Diaspora are able to vote during elections.
Mr. Oludare Ogunlana,former NANS President who was the Guest Speaker called on Nigerians to be patriotic in any sphere of life they find themselves, he believed that is the only way Nigeria can prosper.He remained convinced
that Nigeria would rise again despite all our challenges as a Nation.He also asked the federal Government to be more daring,pragmatic and proactive in dealing with the Boko Haram threat to Nigerians existence,he also called other African Nations to join forces with Nigeria to finally end this canker worm.
