THE CHIEFS and people of Kwahu Pepease in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region on Friday staged a demonstration against the headmaster of the St Dominic Senior High School, Jacob Baffour, for failing to properly steer the affairs of the school.

The angry community members, led by Nkoguasoafohene, Nana Ansong II, were spotted by the DAILY GUIDE holding placards with numerous inscriptions amidst singing and hurling expletives at the headmaster when they stormed at the school's premises.

According to them, Mr Baffour's attitude is collapsing the school and forcing most parents to send their wards to other schools.

Nana Ansong told the DAILY GUIDE that 'the headmaster doesn't stay in the school but rather move around from lotto kiosk to others without conducting the necessary activities that can help the school to move ahead.'

He added that at the time Mr Baffour took over from Mr Asamoah Dua, the former headmaster, the entire students population was 349, but the number has drastically shot down to 271 'because some students are leaving the school to other ones.'

Poor attendance to classes on the part of both teachers and students and indiscipline, he cited, are on the increase.

Scores of the demonstrators who spoke to the paper bemoaned the high fees being charged by the school authority, adding that the school board of governors and the PTA committee have been dissolved.

The demonstrators later presented a petition to the Kwahu East Education Director demanding his immediate removal from office.
