A middle-aged woman has been arrested by the Police at Kponvie-Barrier on the Ho-Accra road in the Volta region for transporting substances suspected to be Indian hemp from Hohoe to Accra.
The young lady concealed the wrapped dried leaves in a basket full of okro.
The Accra-bound passenger vehicle with registration number GS-4055-13 was intercepted at the Kponvie-Barrier during a routine check on vehicles that use the road.
The District Police command Anyawase, ASP Sabastian Folivi confirmed the arrest to Joy News. He would however not mention the name of the suspect or give any further details.
He said the police is investigating the matter.
